Financial Times, Twitch and Politico are among the winners of this year’s Digiday Media Awards Europe

The winners of this year’s Digiday Media Awards Europe reflect a shift toward experiences that are participatory, connected and built across ecosystems rather than single channels. Digital campaigns increasingly crossed into the physical world, while data and technology enabled personalization at scale without losing cultural relevance or human tone. Interactivity replaced passive reach as the primary driver of engagement, inviting audiences to shape outcomes in real time.

Across categories, technology served to connect rather than to be a spectacle, supporting trust and emotional impact. The strongest work was rooted in integrated partnerships, where brands, platforms and publishers aligned to deliver unified experiences with measurable influence.

Financial Times, in partnership with FedEx, won the award for Best Branded Content Program — B2B — a new category this year — for “Champions of Business,” a campaign spotlighting 31 small and mid-sized enterprises working behind the scenes of elite football.

Through features, mini-documentaries and thought leadership distributed across business and sports platforms, the program connected B2B audiences with stories of innovation, sustainability and growth. By linking its UEFA Champions League sponsorship to credible journalism and football culture, FedEx strengthened awareness, engagement and consideration while positioning itself as a trusted partner for subject matter experts navigating global complexity.

Twitch was recognized across multiple categories for work that redefined how brands engage gaming audiences through platform-native design and community participation.

With Activision, Twitch earned the awards for Best Brand Partnership — B2C (a new category this year) and Best Use of Emerging Technology for “Rogue Shadow Ops,” an interactive launch for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” that turned viewers into active operatives using live chat commands, emotes, raids and bespoke 3D environments. The experience extended beyond launch, sustaining engagement through gameplay integration and creator-led activations.

Twitch also won the award for Most Engaged Community for its partnership with Pot Noodle, which embedded a consumer brand into gaming culture by transforming slurping into a shared Twitch ritual. Together, the wins highlight Twitch’s ability to combine technology, culture and collaboration to drive participation, relevance and measurable impact at scale.

Politico was recognized for work that strengthened its editorial authority while extending its journalism beyond the page. The outlet won the award for Best Event for its immersive pop-up The Politico Pub, which reimagined party conference coverage as a live Westminster pub, drawing senior political figures and producing exclusive reporting, viral social content and increased audience engagement.

It also earned the award for Editorial Team of the Year for a year of sharper European coverage and tighter transatlantic coordination. Under refreshed leadership, Politico’s newsroom unified reporting across capitals, expanded specialist verticals and grew live and audio journalism, delivering measurable audience growth and sustained influence among policymakers in the U.K., Europe and the U.S.
