Mountain Dew, Billups and Sky Sports are some of the winners of this year’s Digiday Marketing and Advertising Awards Europe
The winners of this year’s Digiday Marketing and Advertising Awards Europe demonstrate how data, technology and culture can converge to drive impact. Winning campaigns used real-time signals and advanced analytics to shape messaging and deliver measurable business outcomes, while technology enhanced experiences without replacing human connection. Brands earned relevance by embedding themselves in communities, cultural moments and behaviors rather than relying on traditional advertising.
Winners achieved success through integrated ecosystems of partners, platforms and agencies, while purpose, utility and trust anchored campaigns that created social value alongside commercial growth. Collectively, these winners exemplify how innovation, culture and insight can transform engagement into meaningful, measurable results.
Mountain Dew won Best Influencer Collaboration for “Dew It Anyway,” a campaign supporting aspiring digital creators and challenging stereotypes surrounding influencer culture in Poland. The program combined mentoring, webinars and creative challenges on Discord, amplified by top local influencers and Twitch, TikTok, YouTube and Meta placements.
By meeting Gen Z and young millennials where they already create and share, Mountain Dew fostered community, belonging and self-expression. The campaign strengthened brand relevance, shifted perceptions of influencer careers and drove measurable business impact, including increased engagement, cultural resonance and growth in sales within a competitive carbonated soft drinks market.
Billups earned several awards for its work with Alzheimer’s Society and Medialab, transforming the town of Blackpool, England, into a living story of early dementia for Dementia Action Week 2024 — securing the awards for Best Out-of-Home Campaign and Best Purpose-Driven Marketing.
Over 120 placements across bus stops, benches, billboards and landmarks featured real words from people living with dementia, turning everyday spaces into emotional touchpoints. The immersive, hyper-local approach encouraged residents to recognize early signs of dementia, seek support and reflect on memory loss, reducing stigma and sparking conversation.
James McEwan, CEO EMEA of Billups, won Agency Executive of the Year for leading one of the most transformative periods in the company’s history. Under his leadership, Billups supported campaigns while achieving historic growth, expanding revenue and team size, launching a UAE office, and introducing “the Billups way,” a global framework for OOH measurement and AI-powered planning, setting a new benchmark for creative, data-driven and socially impactful out-of-home marketing.
Sky Sports and AMA won Best Use of Data for a dynamic audio campaign during the Ryder Cup that turned live scores into real-time advertising. Using match data, the campaign generated 1,630 unique ad variations featuring live score updates, countdowns and evolving narratives that mirrored tournament tension.
Delivered across 4.53 million impressions, the approach transformed traditional ad breaks into valuable, fan-centric content, enhancing engagement and relevance. By integrating data directly into the creative process, the campaign demonstrated how real-time insights can turn advertising into a service, providing a model for future sports campaigns that is both innovative and audience-focused.
