American Eagle Spoofs Skinny Jeans

Looks like American Eagle Outfitters has a sense of humor. The clothing brand decided to make fun of the skinny jeans trend by making a spoof video featuring its new “Skinny Skinny Jeans,” which are actually just spray-painted pants.

The brand posted the video to its blog and on its YouTube channel with links to a fake product page selling the Skinny Skinny Jeans spray paint. The spray paint isn’t actually for sale, but instead when customers try to put it in their shopping carts and checkout, are prompted to enter their email addresses to receive a special offer.

Overall it’s an entertaining campaign that definitely got people’s attention–even if some special people of the Internet didn’t get it was a joke. Just take a look at the comments under the video on the blog and on YouTube.
