Digiday Media events get a refresh under Liz Pitonyak’s leadership

Digiday’s events are getting a refresh under the leadership of Liz Pitonyak, who joined the company as general manager of events in December.

She joined Digiday Media with 15 years of experience in event strategy and partnership, after most recently directing event initiatives at Adweek and at Forbes. She will oversee events for Digiday, Glossy, Modern Retail and WorkLife.

“I have dedicated my career to creating transformative experiences that resonate with target audiences, amplify brand stories and deliver measurable business outcomes,” Pitonyak said.

Pitonyak said her goal for 2025 was to create events to “inform, inspire and foster meaningful connections.” Among those changes will be key programming initiatives to reimagine event formats, from working group discussions to immersive Q&A sessions.

“We are thrilled to welcome Liz to our team and confident that her obvious creative, collaborative and organizational talents will take our event platforms, already best-in-class franchises, to new levels of engagement and important insight for attendees and the industry at large,” said Jim Cooper, editor-in-chief, Digiday and WorkLife.

Pitonyak said she will remain laser focused on driving depth in interactions throughout Digiday’s events, introducing AI-powered matchmaking and gamification in networking.

And that depth will be applied to who Digiday puts on stage. Pitonyak pointed to the Digiday Publishing Summit in Vail from March 24-26, which has already confirmed C-Suite execs from the likes of 1440, Bloomberg Media and Sundial Media Group.

“With a strong history of impressive events behind her, Liz will be an incredible partner in reimagining our industry-leading summits, executive dinners and more for the new era our industries are entering – building on the foundation of clear value they’ve offered our attendees and sponsors for years to reach new heights and serve enduring and evolving needs,” said David Amrani, Digiday Media’s CEO.

Pitonyak will kick off her refreshed approach to events with the Digiday Media Buying Summit on March 12-14 in Nashville. Learn more about Digiday Media’s upcoming events.
