Food52, Salesforce and Planned Parenthood are among Digiday Awards winners

Food52, Salesforce, Planned Parenthood and more took home the first 2019 Digiday Awards.

Food52 won Best Product Launch Campaign for the rollout of its first in-house DTC line Five Two. Now the most popular brand in the Food52 Shop, Five Two churns out household items that directly reflect the input of their audience, which is 13 million strong. The line, now featuring 10 products, is created with input from surveys, community events and the almost 30,000 opt-in members of the Five Two Design Team.

Best Use of AI has gone to Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Work & Co, who teamed up to develop an AI-powered sex education chatbot named Roo, who would replace typical teen education content and give teens a confidential forum for asking the questions they necessarily wouldn’t in the ordinary sex education format. In under eight months, Roo has had over 1 million conversations.

Also taking home an early win, this for Best Branding B2B Campaign, are Salesforce and content creation and distribution agency Mahlab. The pair developed a strategy that would engage the six core Salesforce audiences across formats like blogs, infographics and reports that not only discussed best business practices but the importance of CSR and equality. This content prioritizes purpose over profit but directly feeds the Salesforce marketing pipeline.

Twelve winners have been pre-announced, with eight categories still remaining. The final eight will be revealed at the Digiday Fall Awards Gala, which will take place at The Lighthouse in New York City on Nov. 14. These remaining seven include Best Use of Social, Best Use of Video (sponsored by Tubular Labs), Best Branding Consumer Campaign, Multi-Platform Campaign of the Year, Most Innovative Publisher, Creative Agency of the Year, Media Agency of the Year and Brand of the Year.
