At Digiday Publishing Summits at home and in Europe, legacy publishers and young storytellers assemble to discuss the biggest trends, opportunities and challenges facing them in the digital space. We tackle themes ranging from platform monetization to ad blocking to mastering video.
The following is a rundown of our key publishing events — and a few notable speakers at each — between now and April. See you there.
Digiday Publishing Summit Europe
Bologna, Italy
March 7 – 9
Our first European summit of 2016 will explore how publishers in the U.K., Poland, the Netherlands and Turkey are using platforms for publishing and storytelling. Kicking off with a view from the top with News UK CMO Chris Duncan, the summit brings together publishers like the Wall Street Journal, Time Out U.K., Onet.pl, Hurriye, Russia Today and many more. WTF Ad Blocking
March 10
London, U.K.
Hot on the heels of the Digiday Publishing Summit Europe is WTF Ad Blocking, which will be held in London. In Europe the ad blocking conversation is reaching feverish new levels: Some mobile carriers are even (allegedly) blocking ads on their networks. The event will provide a thorough understanding of ad blockers, the psychology behind consumer behavior, the costs to publishers, potential solutions and the forecast for the future of the industry. Digiday Publishing Summit
March 30 – April 1
Vail, Colorado
On the agenda at our first U.S. summit of the year: How publishers are balancing their dependence on the audiences that platforms bring with the need for revenue. Speakers include Philippe von Borries, co-founder of Refinery29; Stephanie Losee, executive director of brand content at Politico; Justin Smith, CEO of Bloomberg Media; and Cory Jones, chief content officer for Playboy.
