Latest in content marketing: brands make their own podcasts
Brands are going beyond advertising in podcasts to producing them. To fulfill the demand, Slate’s Panoply network has created a custom unit to service those clients. Netflix, Prudential and Umpqua Bank have seen huge success in subtly branded podcast content. Matt Turck, CRO at Panoply, said, however, that measurement remains the big problem. And now he has competition: Gimlet Media is also toying with the idea of opening a sponsored-content unit.
