Xbox Live briefly fell offline last night and Snoop Dogg was not happy.
The legendary rapper (and avid gamer) unloaded on Microsoft in an expletive-laden rant on Instagram, telling them to “fix your shit” or else he’s switching allegiance to Sony’s Playstation.
“Ya’ll fucking server is fuckin’ whack, man,” Snoop said in ten-second video for his 8 million followers to see. “ Y’all going to make me switch to Playstation if y’all don’t ever get this shit fixed. Is it that difficult to play someone online?”
He ends it with one final warning: “What the fuck is you doing, Bill Gates? Fix your shit, man!”
It doesn’t matter that Gates, Microsoft’s co-founder, has little involvement with the technicalities of Xbox’s servers or even Microsoft, but as anyone who’s posted a diatribe online can attest to, facts don’t matter when ranting feels so therapeutic.
For extra emphasis, Snoop posted the rant twice on his Instagram within a few hours. Combined, both posts collected about 70,000 likes.
Microsoft declined to comment about the incident. Sony has so far been silent on social media.
Before Snoop throws his Xbox away, perhaps he should know that Playstation’s network has plenty of connection problems itself. The most recent was on Christmas when an outage affected users across the world.
If this is the energy Snoop channels against a gaming console, we’d love to see how he slams an airline on Twitter.
Last night, Xbox Live had an outage and Snoop Dogg wasn’t pleased. In a foul rant posted to his Instagram, Snoop says he’s going to switch Playstation if Bill Gates (?) doesn’t fix it. “Is it that difficult to play someone online?,” he complains. Microsoft has declined to comment.
